Notice of New Governance Local Law 2024

Notice is given, pursuant to section 74 of the Local Government Act 2020, that at its meeting of 4 June 2024, the Wellington Shire Council resolved to make the new Governance Local Law 2024.

The Governance Local Law 2024 takes effect from 5 June 2024.

The objectives of this Local Law are to:

• regulate the use of the common seal;
• prohibit unauthorised use of the common seal or any device resembling the common seal and determine offences and associated penalties;
• determine offences and associated penalties relating to conduct at Meetings;
• provide for the administration and exercise of Council powers and functions; and
• revoke any redundant Local Laws.
